The respect of the environment represents today a world stake for which every government is conscious. BETEN is taking up the challenge in Ukraine, by developing different production projects based on green energy, and by supporting locally and in a concrete way the application of the Kyoto protocol.
WIND ENERGY
Ukraine posseses several regions with a strong potential for wind energy with wind speeds superior to 6m/s. The potential power of the country is superior to several thousants of MW. Ukraine has just ratified «The Law on the green tariff» concerning the guaranteed cost and resale of this type of power within the limits of the national network.
At present BETEN carries out the identification of various sites that may be most favorable for the development of projects on wind energy, and also actively watches the way the legislation evolves.
In this sphere BETEN offers the following services:- Feasibility report and business plan
- Realization of the civil-engineering design of the wind-powered generators
- Delivery and installation of the equipment
- Exploitation and management of the station

BETEN is a member of the "European Wind Energy Association" and regularly takes part in the forums of EWEC (stand 1416 in Warsaw, April 2010)
BIOMASS
Ukraine posesses abundant biomass resources thanks to large agricultural production of which waste products are generally not recovered.
There are also some other biomass resources, such as the large forest of the Carpathians, huge peat stocks in the northeast of the country, and there is also a possibility to cultivate crops with greater potential of biomass.
Ukraine supports the development of biomass use in the country and BETEN actively takes part in the conferences and seminars on Alternative energy that as a rule take place as an initiative of the local municipal authorities.
In this sphere BETEN offers the following services:- Inventory of the various existing resources and of the capacities of the biomass production.
- The Feasibility report and the designing of some lines of the granules and little bricks production etc.
- Search and realisation of projects concerning calorific and electric power energy, including projects on «cogeneration», using the biomass resources.

MINI HYDRO-ELECTRIC POWER STATION
Ukraine has at its disposal a great amount of mini hydro-electric power stations with productivity starting from as little as a few Kilo Watt up to 20 Mega watt. However, some of these hydro-electric power stations are not in service today because of insufficient maintenance service or out of date inefficient equipment.
BETEN offers the Ukrainian state or private owners of such hydro-electric power stations, and also the French companies working in this sphere, to restore to proper function these stations. Our company represents the interests of several investors including some high profile enterprises that could take part in projects such as: restoration, building, exploitation of mini hydro-electric power stations.
In this sphere BETEN offers the following services:- Estimation of the existing hydro-electric power stations or those to be built on the territory of Ukraine
- Diagnosis of the sites profitability
- Search of financing and running partners
- Project planning
- Restoration of the existing stations and building of the new ones

SOLAR ENERGY
BETEN offers private persons and communities 2 types of solar energy sources:
- Water and gas thermal sensors to provide hot water
- Photovoltaic panels enabling electricity production

KYOTO PROTOCOL
In order to avoid the aggravation of global warming on the planet, the Kyoto Protocol urges to limit the emissions of the hotbed gases that create the hothouse effect in the Environment. To promote this restriction, the Kyoto Protocol started a mechanism of providing the exchange of quotas that allows to finance the reduction of the hotbed gases emissions in Ukraine at the expense of the Western European companies. These European companies buy over carbon credits at a price ranging from 8 to 20 euros/ton.
BETEN works within this frame on the recovery of methane emissions coming out from the coal mines in the Lugansk and Donetsk region. The same mechanism can be also applied in the coal-tar industry (emission of the CO2), in dumps of domestic wastes (methane recuperation), and also from any other project concerning the alternative energy that replaces the consumption of fossile resources (oil, gas, coal).

PROCESSING OF DOMESTIC WASTE
The traditional decision of elimination of domestic wastes consists in the warehousing of the waste outside of cities in dumping areas that have a number of negative consequences such as:
- Visual and olfactory pollution of the environment
- Risks of fire
- Fast propagation of parasites
- Pollution of the soil and water tables
- Emission of methane gas responsible for the hothouse effect in the Environment
- Feasibility report on selective collection of waste
- Designing and realization of controllable dumps
- Planning and realization of garbage incineration plants
